The world has indeed changed over the past 50 years; but it turns out that creative and colorful housewares are popular today, just as they were back in 1959, when Leifheit unveiled its first cool and colorful wares in Germany.
Today, Leifheit USA is witnessing a surprising return to products that beckon back to simpler times – though with a decidedly contemporary twist.
Leifheit’s sleek, Euro-style housewares – such as canning jars, kitchen scales, push sweepers, laundry lines, step stools and nifty kitchen tools –are all finding their way into modern homes, where the economy and the environment are top of mind.
And the Leifheit tagline of “always a better idea” is as true today as ever.
To celebrate 50 years of innovative housewares, Leifheit International USA is giving away five $50 shopping sprees on their new e-commerce site, http://www.leifheitus.com.
In celebration of our new online shopping site http://www.leifheitus.com we are offering free shipping on ALL orders.
But HURRY! Offer ends at noon on December 21, 2009.
Leifheit USA just opened a new online shopping site! It features a sale page, product videos, links to our social media sites, and more.
Check it out http://www.leifheitus.com and let us know what you think.
Anyone who likes to get really creative in the kitchen, will love Michael Ruhlman’s new book Ratio:The Simple Codes Behind the Craft of Everyday Cooking.
This book unleashes culinary creativity like nothing else. Learn these ratio basics and the sky’s the limit.
You’ll need a kitchen scale to work this magic. If your kitchen is without one, a variety of Soehnle beauties are just a click away.
1. Euro-style “not-your-grandma’s” clotheslines
Unplug your clothes drier and line dry. (Extends the life and good looks of your garments, too.)

2. Insulated carafes in hot/cool colors
Unplug your coffeemaker. (Carafes keep beverages hot/cold and fresh for eight hours.)
3. People-powered vacuum
Unplug your vacuum. Simple to use and store. (No cords to tangle around furniture. Won’t send your pets running.)
I think the Soehnle scale is wonderful. When I unpacked it the book that came with it really intimidated me, but I was totally off the mark. It was amazingly simple to program my information because the directions were so well written and detailed, even my 12 year old daughter could do it. Everything I needed was in the box, including the batteries. I was able to input all my information in only a few minutes and, so far, I’m the only one using it on a daily basis although my husband just asked me the other day if I could help him set up his information so he could use it too. I noticed today that my doctor’s scale and my Soehnle are show me weighing exactly the same; so it’s very accurate. I have to laugh because after I unpacked it and set it up, I walked into my bathroom and threw out my old, ugly scale. My husband was shocked, but he even said our old scale’s days had long passed. This one is so sleek and modern-looking and I really do leave it right out on the floor instead of hiding it under my bathroom shelves where my old scale spent its days.
It’s really a wonderful prize and I’m getting so much use out of it, I can’t thank you enough.
